Home IS Where the Heart Is

Whew, what a week this has been! I can't believe I made it to Saturday! The week started out with my 3-day guest designer opportunity with JustRite Stampers, then spiked to an even greater high with a message from Linda Elbourne that I had made the Simon Says Stamp and Show design team. So I was riding high at the beginning of the week, but with mixed emotions because I was also getting my 21 year old daughter ready to go back to college for her senior year. She left yesterday and the house seems so empty with just the DH and me. So Friday was a bit of a let down, but I had the joy of working on this card Friday night when I got home from work.

Our hostess for August at Our Creative Corner is Wendy Janson. She has kicked off the month with a wonderful challenge, something that is close to my crafty little heart, embossing. I had so much fun putzing around with this card last night. No pressure, just try this, try that, see what looks good, and this is what I came up with. It made me happy and I finished it off with a deep sign of satisfaction! I also targeted this card to fit the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room, one of my absolute favorite challenge blogs! This week the challenge is House & Home and there is an inspiration photo with the colors soft blue, cream, white and brown. Ewww, I just realized I didn't really include pure white - well, look closely at the flowers - is there some white in there?

Products used:
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Always and Script (sentiment is computer generated)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, K&Co. Ancestry
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Craft Brown, Creamy Caramel, Vintage Photo DI, printer ink
Dies/Punches: Cuttlebug Hearts & Stamps for the cork hearts, BossKut Leaf Flourish
Accessories: Prima flowers, Martha Stewart leaf punch, SU Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions, Clear EP

Please stop by the Our Creative Corner blog to check out the rest of the Embossables from the design team. And just in case you have some spare time this weekend, here is are the blogs of the rest of the DT. It would be great if you could pay them a visit and let them know how great their work is!

Hmmmm empty nest..... sounds like I could use a little of that! Just kidding, but it is VERY noisy around here with my 3 kids! Anyway your card is gorgeous as always and your vintage style will fit in great on the Simon Says DT. Thanks as always for sharing with us in the Tea Room! You know I'm a fan!

LINDA!!!!! This card is stunning! I've not yet used cork, but I'm thinking it's very popular right now and I might need to give it a nod in my own crafting.
