Cool Water

Hello!   I'm so pleased to have you visiting me today!  I hope you are having a great week. I'm back home after a week in Key West, trying to get back into the groove of running my little paper craft supplies business.  I got back just in time to join the rest of the Frilly and Funkie design team in week 2 of Rebecca's Cool Water challenge.  We are to make a project that includes an image of water, anything from a droplet to an ocean.  I chose the ocean.

I started with a jumbo manila tag and brushed on gesso.  When it dried,  I sponged it with Salty Ocean DI and shook on a bit of Antique Linen distress embossing powder. Then I did a bit of stamping with the Mercantile stamp set using Jet Black archival.   I created a stencil by cutting a pice of card stock with the Spring Greenery die, mixed some white Wendy Vecchi embossing paste with a couple of colors of green distress ink and stenciled on some water weeds.  I created the coral using the branch from the Mini Branch and Leaf Set (not an original idea, rather one I picked up from my new assistant Carol Franklin.)  I painted the chipboard with a blend of Rusty Hinge and Barn Door stains, dried it with my heat tool and then dabbed on white Wendy Vecchi embossing paste  When it was partially dry, I made the little holes with a round tip embossing tool and then painted them with the ink blend of Rusty Hinge and Barn Door.  The seahorse is from the Mini Sand and Sea die, then it was embossed with Antique Linen distress embossing powder.  While the EP was hot, I sprinkled on some Antique Linen distress glitter.

The Honeycomb frameworks die was used to cut a chipboard embellishment that was coated with Antique Linen distress embossing powder, which was then embellished with one of the rhinestone circles from my shop.  The sentiment is from #hashtags.

The tag was topped off with a hand dyed crinkle ribbon, dyed with Scattered Straw.  I threaded a piece of cheese cloth through the tag hole and on the crinkle ribbon and a tiny bronze seahorse charm.

That's it for this week's posting.  Thanks again for dropping by! I hope you will stop by Frilly and Funkie and leave the other designers some love!

The products below were used to create this tag.  They are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where Tim Holtz/Ranger/Wendy Vecchi and most other name brand products are always 20% below MSRP.
