Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #11

This week it's Week #11.  We are on the downhill now folks.  If you haven't started this challenge yet, there is still time. You just have to make 12 winter projects and link them up to my weekly posts by December 19th.  The challenge is sponsored by my on-line shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique
and we are giving away gift certificates and discount coupons - good stuff!  You can find all the challenge details in my Week #1 post.

This week's tag was constructed on a jumbo manila tag that we sell at the Boutique.  I use this style tag for all of my tags.  I layered on design paper from the Tim Holtz Mini Stash Tidings (sorry, it's out of stock) and white embossed snowflakes from the Mini Weathered Winter stamp set.

I distressed the edges with my fingernail and Walnut Stain DI and did some stitching with my sewing machine.  I cut a doily fro the same paper with the Circle Delight Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is from Mini Doodle Greetings stamped with Glacier White ink on black CS and fussy cut.  The snowflake is chipboard cut with the Stacked Snowflake die.  I didn't have any white crackle paste so I painted the snowflakes white with Picket Fence distress paint and coated them with Prima Clear Crackle Paste.  I let it dry overnight because I slathered it on pretty thick.  I weathered the edges with Walnut Stain DI.  The tag was topped off with a scrap of crocheted lace that I found a couple of years ago at a second hand shop.  I cut a chuck off and adhered it to the top along with a scrap of ribbon, some baker's twine and a button.

I thought it still needed some bit of something and decided to use the same sentiment stamp and cut out bits to use as embellishments.  I even cut the snowflake from the top and used it to top off my stacked snowflake.

I struggled with getting going on my tag this week.  I had one half done and even though I was liking it, I felt it was too similar to one I had done earlier this year.  I've been wanting to use some of the new Idea-ology Mini Stash paper. and used that to get started.  This is different from anything I have made so far this year and it served to get my creativity going  I really love the way it came out.  It's sort of a throwback style for me and I very much enjoyed making it.

I can't wait to see what you all will make based on this week's inspiration.  Thank you so much for all the visits and comments.  And a special thanks to those of you who are playing along!

Hugs,

Oh, I love this one to bits! It's that deep red and black combination that trips my Holiday trigger! That crackled snowflake steals my heart as does the black and white plaid ribbon! Gorgeous tag, Linda! I hope I can do it justice as a card. Hugs!

I love this one so much - with that fabulous chalkboard against the aged papers. The snowflakes look amazing on the polka dot background too.

Your tag is so pretty. It reminds me of a country Christmas. There is so much on this tag but it is laid out so well. I went more glitter/shiny
