Celebrating Summertime

Hello and thanks for stopping by this Sunday morning.  I'm back today with a jumbo tag I made for no other reason than just to celebrate summertime and, of course, to play in Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 2 challenge #13 of Spritz and Flick.   This week, the challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp with an awesome $25 shopping spree!

With Jet Black Archival Ink, on one of the jumbo tags I sell in the boutique, I stamped the stamps from Keeper, one of my all time Artistic Outpost favs.  I sponged the background with several distress inks (Scattered Straw, Stormy Sky and Dried Marigold) to give a feel of a summer evening sky.  The word "summer" was cut with the Word Play die from corrugated cardboard which I then partially coated with UTEE.  The tiny flowers were cut with the Tattered Flowers Decorative Strip die and colored with Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed.  The young lady was stamped on Ranger Manila CS  and cut with a Spellbinders die.  Then the tag was dreged through a puddle of Denim Color Wash and water.  Everything was edged with Vintage Photo DI.

The following products from the Funkie Junkie boutique were used to make this card

Brilliant tag... I love the stamp in the bottom corner, just grounding all the beautiful texture and colour above. Gorgeous, love it!

Oh crud...trying to define what your work does to my brain is getting increasingly more and more difficult; perhaps to the point that one day all you will receive in comment form from me is...
Linda, (and then a giant blank space)...the ultimate form of compliment as you rendered me completely speechless. Which I might add, not an easy task.
But as I still have some sort of ability to form a fraction of a sentence, can I just say that of all the buffet of textural yummies you've provided here today, the old front porch of the farm house....WOW!!! That is sensational.

Hugs,
Me :)

I love all this Linda - I fell in love with tags and definitely want to do more. I agree with Lisa - what more can be said. For me it would be to always follow you - support your store and try to do some challenges. How does that sound. Is the word play the whole alphabet?
