Welcome to my post for Artistic Outpost's July blog hop. Our theme this month is Christmas in July. Here is our hop line-up so you can pay all our talented designers a visit.
I decided to use both Snowy Woods and Midwinter for my Christmas card, using a really cool technique I learned by reading Tammy Tutterow's blog. She calls it Watercolor on Foil. You can read all the details here. For my patterned paper I used an old old design from Melissa Francis with a subtle burgundy holly pattern. Once I had adhered the foil sheet and rubbed off all the paper, I stamped images from Midwinter with Jet Black archival ink and then applied the clear embossing powder like she had explained.
I used a tiny tag cut with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tags die, stamping the image and greeting with Jet Black archival and then aging it with Vintage Photo distress ink. I finished off the tag with a tiny scrap of gingham ribbon, a bit of natural burlap thread and a tiny brown button. A bit of Festive Foliage added some interest too.
I love the way this came out - it is really cool. I would encourage you to give this technique a try! Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you are enjoying the hop!
