It's time again for my weekly posting for Artistic Outpost. This week, I played around with my new Wendy Vecchi Stripes and Dots stencil. It started out with me spritzing the stencil to clean some Aged Mahogany ink off it. I hated to waste all that lovely watery ink so I laid a piece of white card stock over it and ended up with the stencil marks mixed in with the water blots. I decided to stencil the edges with Aged Mahogany to match the ink blots and then had to clean the stencil again and ended up with more ink drops on my craft sheet which I used on the edge of the jumbo manila tag...I can see that it could be a vicious circle with stenciling and blotting and stenciling and blotting and...
Once dry, I randomly stamped images from Bloom and Grow onto the background I had created and then sponged Vintage Photo DI over both the stenciled piece as well as the jumbo tag. I finished off the stenciled edging by sewing a row of stitching around it.
My crinoline flower was made from a big black dye batch I did last year and still had a few pieces left. I used one of the floral circle filigrees and topped it off with a black patterned button. It was too bright white so I sponged Vintage Photo DI over it to grunge it up a bit. The tri-bud was white and I painted it with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. I just took a water brush and picked up a bit of ink directly from my ink pad.
And that's it...just a bit of artsy fartsy fun today. Hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love the effects you got here with using the stencil that way. Great colour choices too. And that crinoline bloom really sets the whole tag off. Love it Linda. Hugs, Jenny x
Fantastic! The effect of the stencil drippings, for want of a better word, look amazing and that flower to finish it all off is stunning! Wonderful make!
