Summer Garden

Hi everyone, I'm back with my recent contribution to the Frilly and Funkie challenge that Cec kicked off this week.  Her challenge theme is Summer Garden and she wants us to show our summer garden.  I thought I would share this tag that I made at the beginning of the summer.  I actually made it for a cool water challenge but realized at the last minute the challenge actually required some sort of water image and I only had water colors.  So it was set aside and now I am happy I found a use for it because I really like it - love the yellow and aqua color palette.   Humm, maybe that's why I just bought this new bike.  It sort of matches my tag and it makes me smile  :)
Anyway, back to my tag...I started with a jumbo manila tag and stamped it with Tim's Ultimate Grunge stamps with Jet Black archival.  Then I sponged it with Vintage Photo DI.  Next, using an old book page, the page was stenciled with a Prima stencil and white Wendy Vechi embossing paste.  Then it was sponged with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade DIs and sewn onto the tag.  The ivy was cut with the Spring Greenery die, stamped with the checkerboard stamp from the Ultimate Grunge set and sponged with Mowed Lawn DI.

My flowers were cut with the Tattered Flowers Decorative strip die and stained with Scattered Straw DI and with a bit of Vintage Photo DI around the edges.  I dyed some rayon ribbon with Peacock Feathers DS and added some gumdrop bling from my boutique.

The main sentiment is from the #hashtags set.  I didn't think I would like or use that set, but I have really grow fond of it and use it frequently.  The "Sweet Summer" sentient was commuter generated.  Both have been cut with my pinking shears.  The itty bitty dragonfly charm is from my stash - had it forever.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Hope to have you stop by Frilly and Funkie too.  Please leave our fantastic designers some love too!

These items used to make the above tag are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique, where Ranger/Tim Holtz and most other name brand ites are always 20% below MSRP.
