Somewhat Unique

Greetings friends. It seems like forever since I have felt a flutter of creativity.  I have been so busy with family concerns and my shop - lots of new products have come in and I have been working like crazy to get them listed.  And today I finally had time to sit and create which felt great!  And I had a chance to play with some of my new goodies too.  Besides all the new Tim Holtz/Ranger stuff that has recently come in (and lots more on the way!), I have a ton of new filigree metals and buttons listed in the shop and even more buttons to list over the weekend.  I have a new supplier for those products and have been able to reduce the prices considerably as well as offer a bigger selection.

But enough stuff about The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  It's time to talk about this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner.  Sue Butler is our host this week and she is challenging us to use kraft and music on our project - what a super combination!  I started with my favorite jumbo tag, stamped the script stamp from the Papillon set in Jet Black archival and the stamped the flourish in embossing ink.  Weathered White EP was applied over the entire tag.  Because the archival ink was still a bit damp, some of the EP adhered to it also making for an interesting background.  Then the entire tag was sponged with Faded Jeans DI and misted so the ink would react with the water.

The skirt was created out of tissue wrap and the sentiment is the new TH stamp set Simple Sayings which I am really loving!  I used two of the new buttons I am carrying in the shop - the small one with the hand stitching design is a button carved from coconut shell and the large wooden circle is actually a large coat button that I used to frame the spool label from the Haberdashery set.  I also used a beautiful silver tone metal piece as a cumber bun of sorts from my dress form.  And the pretty buttons I used as staging for the photo are also in the shop and newly lowered prices!

I hope you will stop by Our Creative Corner to see the lovely pieces the rest of the team has to inspire you.

An absolutely delicious tag, Linda! Love that background (and thank you for reminding me that I've not had my embossing powders out for a while!) and the gorgeous frilly tissue wrap skirt. So glad you had some time for yourself to sit and play - LOVE the results!!

Lovely, Linda! Shabby, vintage and so feminine! I love the dress form and all the little embellishments. Life sure does get busy, doesn't it? I think it helps us to appreciate play time better. Have a great weekend.

Wonderful vintage look/feel to this. Love the colors you used and all the great texture you achieved.
PS: where can I find details about participating in this challenge? I've looked and looked and gone 'round and 'round until I'm dizzy :D

Oh no, I'm so sorry! I have too many blogs - LOL! I accidentally linked back to my own blog rather than the OCC challenge. The links are fixed now - just click on Our Creative Corner and it will take you to the challenge blog. Again, my apologies!
