Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #7

Greetings friends!  It's week #7 in the 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style and I have a snowy day in the woods for you this week.  If you are not familiar with the challenge, you can read all the details on it in the first post here.  I also decided to combine my tag with Linda Ledbetter's Tim Holtz Technique challenge the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge.  This week, the technique is Volume #2, Page 40 - the Faux Suede challenge and my little ole boutique The Funkie Junkie Boutique is this week's sponsor!

This technique is way cool!  I had never done it before and  oh oh, I think I have another favorite technique!  If you double click on the photo you will be able to see it super close up and get an idea of how the kraft paper looks after being treated with the Ranger Ink Refresher.  After performing the technique, I colored the tag with Bundled Sage Distress Stain and also added some smudges of Tarnished Brass Metallic DS.  It takes forever to dry - the ink refresher has sort of an oily feel to it and even using my heat tool it took awhile to dry.  Once it was try, using the masking technique, I stamped the pine tree from the classic SU set Lovely as a Tree for the background.  I also sponged a bit of Vintage Photo DI around the edges.  The main image is from Artistic Outpost's Midwinter plate, stamped in Coffee archival ink.  The cardboard was also edged with Vintage Photo DI and then I applied a mix of gold EP and UTEE to the edges - same type of embossing for the snowflakes.  The reindeer were diecut from chipboard over which I had glued a vanilla card stock.  Then the snowflakes were clear embossed and Vintage Photo DI was liberally sponged over them.

The sentiment plaque was stamped with Coffee archival and then clear embossed.  Next Festive Berries DI was sponged and I applied one thin coat of UTEE.  Then I went around the edges again with my gold EP/UTEE mix.

And there you have Tag #7.  Have you started playing along yet?  If so, please know that I am absolutely thrilled that you are joining in.  And if you haven't started playing, there is still time.  One of the requirements to qualify for the drawing at the end is that you must have entered each of the 12 weeks and all must be completed by midnight on December 17th.  Tags are quick and easy so what are you waiting for?

Have a great week and see you back here next Monday for #8.
