I couldn't resist using canvas to make my flowers. Especially since I decided to triple up on this challenge. I also made my tag to fit Tim Holtz's August tag challenge as well as Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 2 challenge this week which is page 54 of Tim Holtz's compendium II - Perfect Pearls mist technique.
To make my tag, since I don't have many colors of paint dabbers, I mixed Snow Cap with a couple of drops of Tattered Rose distress reinkner and applied it as Tim shows on his blog. Then I inked it with Vintage Photo distress ink, using a damp paper towel to clean the distress ink of the raised parts where I had applied the acrylic ink. My frame stamp is from Inka-dinka-do and the center stamp is an old SU set - Friendship's Journey. I used distress markers to color my stamp before I stamped the heart and the flourish. Then I applied my favorite UTEE technique ( a really thin layer then sponged with Vintage Photo) to both pieces.
The flowers were cut from canvas with the Tattered Pinecone die and the canvas leaves with the Tattered Leaves die. For the branches, I cut gray chipboard and then painted it white with a snow cap paint dabber. When dry it was inked with a bit of Peeled Paint an coated with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint, then dabbed with a Vintage Photo distress stain dabber. The Vintage Lace die was used to cut Ranger Foil Tape which was painted with Pitch Black paint dabber and the paint was wiped off before it fully dried. For a final step, the entire piece was misted with Perfect Pearls mist in Perfect Pearl shade. The whole piece was finished off with a crinkled seam binding bow and a couple of baubles I created with some of my jewelry making materials.
I love the sweet romantic look of this tag - hope you enjoyed looking at it too. Now hop on over to Frilly and Funkie to see what the Frilly designers have done with canvas. I'm sure you will be inspired. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope to see an entry from YOU this week at Frilly and Funkie.

Back from vacation and hitting the ground running I see! And run did you...this is sensational. I'm thrilled when I look through your supply list that I am slowly gathering all of these goodies. Now if I could only construct something 1/10th as amazing as you do, I'd be a truly happy camper.

I love how you created each part of this and especially how you shared about using your one paint dabber with other mediums to create colors. I too only have the one dabber and I never thought to try that, so thank you for the inspiration. This tag is simply beautiful.
Those flowers are amazing! So feminine and soft. I just love the image, textures and colors. Beautiful as usual. Just love it! Hoping to join in this challenge. I have been busy for several weeks. This makes me want to get back in the challenges.
