Attitude of Gratitude

From The Funkie Junkie
The challenge this week at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is stamp misting. I'd been itching to get going on this piece all last week, but just couldn't squeeze it in. I got a chance to stamp on Sunday and finished it up just under the wire today. Stamp misting is a technique that I hve always loved. It gives such a gentle, soft-focus look. I haven't used it in forever so I really wanted to see what I could do with it now. I purchased this Inkadinkado set a couple of weeks ago at Jo-Ann's at 40% off when I realized I don't really have many autumn stamps. The misting technique worked perfectly with the solid stamps in this set.
I am also entering this card into several other fall themed challenges:

Allsorts Challenge this week which is Autumn Days - it can be anything that makes you think of autumn
OohLaLaCreations - Shades of Autumn
If the Shoe Fits - Must have leaves

I stamped the flourish leaves in Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Really Rust and Always Artichoke. Each time, after inking the stamp, I lightly misted the stamp with water before stamping. Using markers, the pumpkin was inked with Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa and Always Artichoke, misted and stamped. The corner treatments and the piece the pumpkin is mounted on are die cuts from the Spellbinders Lattice Pendant die. I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. The Gratitude stamps is also gold emobssed.

The ribbon thingy was made by stitching two satin ribbons straight down the middle with a long stitch and then gathering it to pucker it up. I found a matching button and tied it on with a piece of hemp thread. The Pumpkin Pie layer is clear embossed with a leaf flourish stamp from this set. As always, I couldn't resist roughing up the cardstock edges with scissors and sponging a bit of Creamy Caramel and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink to age it. The designer paper is by Melissa Frances.

Update: This card was featured on Card of the Week.

Hi Linda, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment! Your work is beautiful. I have to admit, I'm a little envious of you right now! I noticed your weather widget and how nice it is there right now...it's freezing here in Ontario this morning! My daughter went to school with gloves on her little hands.

Have a great day!
