Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #2

Hello and welcome back.  It's Week #2 of my annual 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style and here is Tag #2 for your inspiration.  This week, I started with my normal jumbo tag that we sell at The Funkie Junkie Boutique and gave it a full coat of white gesso.  Playing around with the new Tim Holtz Woodlands stencil, it was stenciled on using various colors of Distress inks and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.  The Distress ink didn't dry well by itself over the gesso so I had to heat set it with my heat tool.  For the red, I used Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink in Red Geranium.  Two stencils were used - Tim Holtz's Nordic and Polka Dots.

I love the new Tim Holtz Thinlits die set Vintage Tidings (you'll probably see more of this set as my tags continue - LOL).  I used it to cut a manila tag and coated it with white gesso so it matched the color and surface of the tag itself.  The edge were sponged with Vintage Photo to give a more distressed effect.  A little bling and interest was added by using the new Remnant Rubs Guilded Christmastime.   I love these guided Remnant Rubs but be warned.  As soon as you lay them down, they start to adhere.  It doesn't give much of a chance to adjust the placement.   I ended up messing up the 'o' on the 'on earth'   I carefully lifted off the mess and cut an 'o' from another saying and was able to match it up and rub it on.

Aren't the little deer from the new Christmastime Idea-ology collection just the cutest things?  I painted mine gold using Gold Mixative Alcohol Ink.  The tag was finished off with a bit of white ribbon and a red and white jute bow, also from the new Christmastime collection.

There you have it.  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are thinking about playing along with my challenge this year.  You can find all the details in the post from Tag #1.

The products below were used to make this tag.  They are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where Tim Holtz and Ranger products are always 20% below MSRP.
