Hi everyone, what do you do when you have to make a fourth project in a row with a resist theme - resist it? Yeah, it seems like every challenge I'm involved in is doing resist this past fortnight. How funny is that? It's not like they all copied each other. I know both of my design teams have had their themes set for at least a month. Even Tim Holtz and Linda Ledbetter got into the resist theme - LOL.
And are you tired of seeing tags here? I tried to make a card for this challenge - really tried, because I'm sorta tired of tags right now too. But the way I had laid out the resist technique on this vintage book page just didn't work for a card. It would have been totally covered up. The two resist techniques I used here are Multi Medium resist and emboss resist. The Multi Medium resist was done on the base of the tag and my goodness, I actually thought about taking a photo of the background before covering it up.
Here it is. I stamped the old SU Baroque Motifs stamp first in red archival ink, cleaned the stamp and then applied Multi Medium Matte, just off setting the stamp slightly. I love the shadowing effect it creates! Then it was sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the page was glued to one of the jumbo tags I sell in the boutique.
Both of the laces were white or ivory and I dyed them with my Black Soot distress stain - REALLY love the way they came out. The kraft envelope was created with the Movers and Shapers Pocket Envelope die, stamped with the old SU Botanicals stamps in Ranger Jet Black and Sepia Archival. Then a flower flourish stamp from Inkadinkado was stamped in embossing ink and Enamelware EP was applied. I sponged over the EP for my second resist technique using Vintage Photo DI.
The darling angel is a resin embellie from Melissa Frances and the sentiment is from Wendy Vecchi. The hearts were cut from felt with a Spellbinders die. The hinge clip is from Tim Holtz and I applied Enamelware EP to it. I built the tiny embellishment below the cherub with some filigree metal from my boutique that I painted with Vintaj Retro Cafe black paint plus a couple of teensy corrugated cardboard hearts and another tiny filigree - sometimes I just like to play around with odd and original embellies :)
So there you have my latest response to a resist challenge. You know, you could do a three-fer with a kraft resist piece. Play with Tim Holtz's Kraft Resist paper stash (
