A Word

Hi there, I'm back today with a DT piece I made for a new challenge just kicking off today over at Frilly and Funkie.   Our talented Sue Carrington has set a challenge to let one word take center stage on your project - no stamped sentiments are allowed.
I started with a jumbo manila tag and embossed it with Weathered White embossing powder using the new Distress Damask stamp, which I am officially in love with.  Once embossed,  scribbled on my craft sheet with Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters distress stains, misted it a couple of times with water and then blotted up color with my tag.  I blotted several times, drying after each time to get the water spotted look.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum because I wanted the beautiful background to show through as well as have my word be a focal point.  My word 'Imagine' was cut out from a Tim Holtz stamp.  The label was created by embossing with Weathered White onto a mini label and then sponged with Vintage Photo DI.  Then it was embossed two times with UTEE, the IMAGINE word was affixed and then two more coates of UTT were applied.
The large feather and ink well are from the writing desk die.  I created the ink bottle label by stamping the ink bottle on the Mercantile set and cutting out just the label to affix to this ink bottle.

The feathers from the mini ink well set were cut from white CS, stained with Vintage Photo and then Vintage Photo distress glitter was applied.  The simple flower was created using the Tattered Florals die from white CS which was colored with Tumbled Glass DI.  The turquoise rhinestone center is from my shop.
That's it for my very simple tag for the Frilly side of Sue's challenge.  Stop by next Wednesday to see what I did for the Funkie side.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great week.  The Funkie Junkie Boutique is closed this week as I am on vacation but will reopen on May 16 with a week-long discount if you use this coupon code when you shop:  stockup4summer

These products were used to make the tag shown above and are all available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where most name brand products are always 20% below MSRP:
