New Year's Resolutions

Hello friends, followers and visitors!  I have a tag to share that I made for my Frilly week make over at Frilly and Funkie.  I'm hosting this challenge and I thought it would be fun to share our New Year's resolutions.  It's time again for new beginnings and New Year's Resolutions. I know you got 'em. Even though you might not have written them down, told your significant other or shared them with your BFF, there are still some positive aspirations lurking in the back of your brain. Now it's time to share them. Over at Frilly and Funkie, we want to see a card, tag or project depicting a New Year's resolution.

Looking at my tag, you may think my New Year's resolution is to use more glitter, you are wrong.  I did coat this baby lavishly with Rock Candy Distress Glitter but that's not what the resolution is.  I struggle with having the time to visit everyone's blog and leave comments, which really bothers me, but with a long list of tasks for the shop every day, blogging falls to the bottom of the list.  So this year, I'm determined to spend more time visiting.  Hence my tag's sentiment...Hello Friend.

I'm still in a winter crafting mode.  I have been itching to use this Tree Line die to create a little forest and wanted to work it in before I move on to a new season.  I started with a jumbo manila tag and sponged it with Cobalt archival ink.  I used archival because I didn't want the embossing paste to absorb the ink and change color.  I was going for a snowy background look.  While the embossing paste was still wet, i sprinkled on the glitter.  I love how Wendy Vecchi's white embossing paste dries so quickly.  The metallic pastes are slower to dry but the white dries in about 20 minutes.  I sponged the back treelike with Iced Spruce and the front treelike with Pine Needles.  The poinsettias were cut using the Mini Poinsettias M&S dies for the smallest one and also the smallest poinsettia on the Tattered Poinsettia die.  I stamped them in Potting Soil archival with the text stamp from Wendy Vecchi's Live and Make Art set.  I keep that stamp on my desk all the time and use it frequently for backgrounds.  I dragged out my old Martha Stewart micro beads to create silver centers for the poinsettias.
A little late for this Christmas, I just found a lot of cute Christmas/winter charms and stocked up the store with them.  The tiny silver bells really do jingle and these cute little silver tone safety pins are perfect for hanging the charms on a bow.  I'm including a dozen of the safety pins with each set of charms.

I hope you will decide to play along with Frilly and Funkie for this challenge.  Stop by and see the wonderful projects the Frilly team has shared.

The supplies below were used to make this tag and are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique, where most name brand products are always 20% below MRSP.

You must be seeing the world through my eyes! I'm currently in the French alps for the winter and the scene outside is so reminiscent of this tag :-) snows coming down & the evergreen pines are laden! All that is missing is the poinsettias....

A fabulous New Year to you, keep the beautiful art coming :-)

This is divine Linda. I have some die cuts of these trees and now you have given me an idea of some cards for next year! Love those bells and pins too. Not sure if you have Fat Face clothes store over there, but they use pins like these on some of their clothes but brass! Getting a small collection!
Happy New Year to you.
Hugs

LOVE your card!! I bought that tree line a while ago and have not used it yet-can't wait to now! Yes, it is amazing how our valued friends and family always take 2 seat to our "silly" work demands! more time with my family is on my list this year.

I clicked on the charms to purchase and it says you are out of stock. Hope that is not true. I love them!

This is such a beautiful tag Linda and the first time I have seen that tree line on the edge die, it is stunning and the way you have used it looks so lovely. One of my resolutions is to play more in challenges, so maybe playing in this one would be a good start...

Gorgeous! I seen several of my blogging friends participation entries in your Christmas tag series, but hadn't popped over to your blog. Your work is magnificent, so I can see how you inspired them. I'm following your blog now in case you have another challenge in the future. Happy New Year!

LOL...your glitter comment had me cleaning coffee off my computer screen!
Your tag is sensational as well as the resolution sentiment; however, I always know you're faithfully lurking in the shadows of our blogs. :)
Enjoy your year and may it be the most inspirational yet.
