I started by ripping a page out of an old book and mixed a puddle of Picket Fence and Weathered White distress stains and dredged the page through it, then dried it with my heat tool. Then just for fun I spritzed it with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mist. Here's a photo I took of it before I ripped it up and glued it to the tag.
While it was still a little damp, I rolled it in a ball and crunched it up tight, unfurled it and ripped off a good sized chunk which I affixed to my tag with Multi Medium. I had already randomly stamped the manila tag with images from Birds of a Feather using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. Once glued down and dry, I sponged the entire tag liberally with Vintage Photo distress ink. I also splotched it up a bit with a blend of Vintage Photo reinker and water in a mini mister. The way I get my blotches is to just mist a bit on my craft sheet and then smoosh my paper/tag into it. I added the stamped image of the bird on a branch plus added my own branch cut from corrugated cardboard and the Tim Holtz Branch Tree die.
The SOAR stamp is from another AO set, Quotes and Quotables, and the flourish stamped in Sepia archival on the tag is from Birds of a Feather. The lace, twine, corrugated cardboard, lace butterfly jute ribbon and many other products are available in my Funkie Junkie Boutique.
I used a Word Band that says Embrace Imperfection and gave it a patina with alcohol inks using a felt ink applicator. So that's it for my fun little Saturday night playtime. Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you enjoyed your visit.

Hello Linda
It is the freedom and not concerning oneself about outcomes, that sometimes result in the most wonderful effects.
This Tag is so pleasing to the eye.
