Hello and happy weekend! I hope your summer is going great. I am still on vacation, but was able to schedule posts beforehand and am doing some blogging on the road. I'm back today to share a tag I made for Lori Rider's Our Creative Corner challenge. This week Lori has a color challenge for us: Poppy, Lime, Pink, Black and White with the required twist of adding either fabric or circles or both.
Well, I don't mind telling you the colors threw me for a loop! Holy moly, I thought, how on earth can I use those colors? Well, sometimes, you gotta just jump in and that's what I did. I started by sponging a doily with Ripe Persimmon DI, which I used for my poppy color. Then I sponged my tag with Shabby Shutters (lime) DI and stamped in black archival ink with the Elements of Style toile stamp from Stampin' Up! I cut my doily apart before affixing it in two separate pieces to the tag. I created a faux butterfly button using a PTI die, a TH stamp and some Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint and added a few more black buttons as decorative elements. The sentiment is from the Lovely Day stamp set by Artistic Outpost.
My handmade black crinoline flower was the defining black element. I found a gorgeous black and gold button for the center in my vintage button stash. My pink is just a tiny pop with the itty bitty pink butterfly and the pink stick pin. A strip of black crocheted lace finished this piece off.
Now that my colorful tag is finished, I must say that I love the way it came out. The colors are incredible together, especially the poppy and lime!
Now it's time for you to hurry on over to
Our Creative Corner. We have a sensational design team and they are sure to have a gorgeous line up of samples for your inspiration.
