Greetings to you on this gorgeous summer day! So happy you stopped by to see my sample for the weekly challenge at Our Creative Corner. Our hostess, Sarah Gough, has a cool challenge this week - she wants to see Your Style. We want to see a card or paper crafting project that exemplifies your style. And we are having a DT call. So show us something that showcases your awesome abilities and tell us about you and your style.
This is what I came up with for my style. The reason for the question mark is that I think it is too bright and that is not typical for me. I love gingham and I love red, but this particular piece of red gingham is very bold and bright. When I had the card all glued together, I stepped back and really looked at it - and wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I don't see anything bad about - nice layout and embellies and technically sound, it's just a little (or a lot) too RED. Too bad my PhotoShop abilities don't extend to just toning down the red a bit - LOL! It all started with a yen to use up some of my hoarded Webster's Pages paper from a couple of seasons back. I got stuck on the cherries and found this darling vintage image to go with the paper - unfortunately I covered up the cherries on the table next to the girl :( The sweet little frame is a Spellbinders die. I covered a piece of light cardboard with the DP and then die cut it. I found just one small doily in my stash and it worked perfectly to wrap around the frame. Then I strung a bit of my new burlap string around it and made a bow. The bottom scallop was cut with a PTI die - same for the tiny heart tag. The lace and crinoline are from my Etsy shop, as is the burlap string and the sweet red buds applique. My tutorial for making the crinoline flower can be found here.
Now how about showing us your style? Stop by Our Creative Corner and gather up some inspiration from our awesome design team and get going on your own submission. We hope you will want to apply for the design team too!
Thanks for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. They are so appreciated. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

ps. can you send some sun to me please. lol.
Linda, I LOVE it! In fact I think this is one of my favorites.
By the way, I linked to your tutorial on how to make crinoline flowers a couple of weeks ago when I made another card using it. I really enjoy making those flowers and it's all thanks to you!
By the way... my order came in yesterday and I LOVE all the trinkets both metal lace. I'll be using some of the elegant lace embellishments and edging in a wedding scrapbook I'm making for my son and his wife. They are sooo delicate and beautiful! Thanks so much my friend!
Such an eye catcher, I love the bright colours with the old photo, looks amazing.xx
Oh wow!! I just love your card. Red is one of my favorite colors and you certainly did it justice. This is beautiful.
I think the wrapping of the doily around it helps to tone it down a bit, pretty paper and darling image
A great showcase of your style, Linda! I'm a sucker for gingham and cherries so you really got me! I adore this! I love the sweet image and the large scallop and your beautiful lace work as well!
Beautiful card Linda, I think this captures your style perfectly, bright or not ! Love all the detail, as usual, and the image is gorgeous. Sue C x
I did a quick double take seeing the bright red (doesn't say "linda" to me!) but after reading your post I understood why you went with it. Plus your soft lace and flowers definitely show your true style. You can make bright work, too!
Linda, once I saw your card, I knew it was YOU! Your style is uniquely yours! The image, the flower, the lace, all your signature marks! But, once I read your post, I now understand what you don't like about all the bright red. That red might not be your typical color, but, I knew it was your card! It had your 'signature' all-over it! And I loved it!
Linda, I think you know how much I love your style! I am always in awe of your cards, those flowers are my fave and no one can put it all together like you! I want to be you when I grow up!! LOL!!
Such a wonderful card.. I just love that red gingham paper.. It just says happy all over it..
Your work is always beautiful, Linda - and so is this card! I had doubts too about whether my card really captured my style, but I think even if we do something that's atypical, our own personal touches still come through to make it ours. It definitely looks like a gorgeous Linda card - I love the gingham and the cherries with your vintage images! Fabulous card!
Wow Linda this is wonderful! I love all the patterns you blended here. Thanks for having me as a guest this week:)
I know you think it's bright, but I'm really drawn to that punchy color! I'm loving the gingham/lace combo- very pretty. Hope you have a super week! :)
So very pretty. Beautiful gingham and the red is just perfect on my monitor! LOL. thanks for your sweet comments today.take care, gerri
I bow to the queen of shabby! This is so gorgeous and I love the red, it's bright but really perfect. The doily around the photo is genuis too, I'll have to try that one!
Red or not, this is definitely your style, gorgeous!
