What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Okay, this is my first time to share my messy little cave.  When I first heard about this What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday sharing post, I thought no way can I ever let people see how messy I am.  But then I noticed that others have stacks and piles and bits and pieces.  I really was interested to see how similar many desks look to mine.  I don't take time to tidy up every day.  I usually fall into bed sometime after midnight and then get right down to the business of crafting (or blogging) the next minute I have available.  So here is a little snippet of my world.  I spent last night dying and painting laces for my new Etsy shop.  I fun and relaxing activity even if it is terribly time consuming.

My good friend Stasia just sent me this wonderful quote that I wanted to pass along:

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. ... No artist is pleased. [There is] no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."
from The Life and Work of Martha Graham

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday.

It looks amazing - is this a shot from Where Women Create....! I think you just dusted Linda. Welcome to WOYWW - you can show any old state of chaos, insanity or perfection there and I like the mooch about...

A women after my own heart with a quote from Martha although I must say a Graham dance class was always a case of do or die. Mostly I just died. So many intense abdominal contractions.... I chose Rudolf Laban and studied Modern European contemporary dance...he is more go with the flow!

See you around soon. Golly new DT piece looming already...

I love being nosy peeking into others crafting spaces, lol. I don't have an area, everything is in boxes that come out and go back with every card. TFS! :D

Well Linda all I can say is you don't want to see my workspace ..lol....My initial reaction was how tidy you are ! With all the lace around even your workspace has the wonderful vintage feel that you create so well.
I love the quote too !

Lovely space - great way to store your Copics..welcome to WOYWW...funny how we all think our desk is shameful till we see others'! Impressed by your patience with the lace!

Hi Linda, I too have heard of that post, but have never looked or added my photo. You have encouraged me to look! Thank you. I have the same feelings as you. I didn't want everyone to see how 'messy' my creative space was. But then again, we are all the 'same'. I don't 'clean' everyday. Especially if I am working on a project. I put things away when I'm done. I love that you left your coffee mug in the photo. I usually have a coffee mug at my desk with me too!
Thanks for sharing!
