A Simple MidWinter Card

Hello everyone!  I'm still vacationing but back with a scheduled post share another sample I created with the fab new MidWinter plate just released by Artistic Outpost.  This is such a versatile set with so many wonderful images.  For this piece I focused on the cardinal, stamped in Jet Black archival ink and colored with Copics.   I used one of my favorite stamps from the Ephemera Backgrounds plate to create a faux post card and also stamped a few pine branches stamped in Iced Spruce.  It was as easy as that to create a quick focal panel for my winter season card.

The background paper is seriously old Cosmo Cricket paper that I have been hoarding for years and I created a woodgrain panel with at TH texture fade, sponging over it lightly with Gathered Twigs DI and then very simply edged with a strip cut from the Vintage Lace decorative strip die.  The pinecone was created with the Tattered Pinecone die but now that I look at it, I think I need some practice in rolling it to look more like a pinecone and less like a rose - I've been using that die mostly to make flowers!  I dry brushed the edges with a bit of gesso.  The bow was created with a ripped strip of country style gingham and the piece was finished off with a filigree snowflake topped with a button.

And that's it - very simple!  Thanks for stopping by - hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Easy for you to say simple - and your pine cones look like pine cones to me. Beautiful Linda - a very hearth and home kind of card. I love it. Hope you are having a great vacation.
