Metallic CAS

Hello and happy Saturday to you!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I'm back to share a very quick card I made for this week's Our Creative Corner challenge.  This week's hostess, Meihsia Liu, has a photo inspiration challenge for us.  Let the photo inspire you to use a color combination of orange and blue with tones from white, cream to a bit of brown (I seem to have missed the brown :(
I've had a really crazy week with barely a moment to breathe, so I decided to combine this challenge with the metal foil tape Friday Focus I did yesterday for Frilly and Funkie.  I explained here how I made the foil tape embellishments (the Ranger Foil Tape is 15% off this week at the Funkie Junkie Boutique - click the thumbnail below).  As I was making them for that post, I remembered that I needed orange and blue embellies for this OCC challenge and decided to kill two birds with one stone.  I wanted a lot of white to create a striking contrast to these two colored metal pieces and ended up with about the closest I'll ever come to a CAS card.

I hope you will stop by Our Creative Corner to check out the beautiful samples the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  And maybe even stop by their personal blogs to leave them some love!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Linda,
I'm hoping you'll be willing to help me. I am a librarian who wants to do a couple of projects this summer for adults doing repurposed old library books. I love the Victorian altered book you did back in February. I need to know if it's okay for me to CASE your idea plus use a copy of the picture from your website to use on my posters to advertise the July class. I would like to have the class make a similar project, but not exactly the same one. Other questions I have are: How many pages deep is whole the item? How many pages did you tear ovals in? Any suggestions for doing that task? How did you do the cover page? Did you just use a title page from teh book, or did you do some stamping? [I plan on using one book for 2 or possibly 3 people if that's possible.] What about the back of the project? Is it just the last book page? I plan to encouarge the class members to use a photo of someone in place of the lady as you did. But, I know some people will not have a "real person's" picture to use and will want an image similar to yours. Do you have a recommended site for free downloads of similar pictures?
Thanks so much for any help you can give me. You can email me at dmorgan@waterford.lib.wi.us with any advice you have. And THANK YOU.

It's Sunday, it's hot outside, TV has reruns, blah, blah,...etc, etc. I was looking for something that got the blood flowing and let those brain pistons fire and BAM!!!!! Of course, your blog. Why didn't I think of it sooner.
OOOOOhhhhh the creativity that oozes from your mind. :)
Thanks again Linda.
Oh, any word from Tim on that alphabet yet? If not, it's all good.
Hugs,
Lisa xx
