I did find a little time to play in my craft room and made this piece for the Funkie week of Sue's Words, Words, Words challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. I started it a half of a sheet of 8.5x11" Specialty Stamping Paper. I scribbled a little Dusty Concord distress paint onto my craft sheet and misted it just a bit with water. Then the paper was blotted onto it. I did that several times, drying the paint each time with my heat tool. Then I repeated the process with Antique Linen DP.
Next Dusty Concord DP was dabbed onto the flower part of a Wendy Vecchi flower stamp and randomly stamped. An oval mask was cut and laid over the flower and then the script stamp from Wendy's _____ set was stamped in Jet Black archival ink. The mask was removed and I added a little embossing to the corners with Wendy's white embossing paste and a Prima stencil (no longer available, sorry!).
Once the embossing paste was dry, I sponged Vintage Photo over it and all around the edges of the piece. The messy ART stamp was stamped with Jet Black archival onto a torn piece of velum, a couple of buttons were added and I made a little dangle charm from beads in my stash. It's held on with a scrap of crinkle ribbon (rayon seam binding) dyed with Vintage Photo distress ink.
I love the way this came out. IRL the colors are so pretty and the stamp has such a beautiful delicacy to it. After being out of my craft room for a week, it felt great to get my hands dirty again! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will play along with us over at Frilly and Funkie. There is still another week to create something for this challenge!
