Welcome back to my Week #2 post for Frilly and Funkie. This week we are featuring our Funkie style designers with their interpretation of Anita's A Different Kind of Tag challenge. I made a Halloween triptych for my different kind of tag. Plus there is a three panel die cut embellishment that sits in front.
This was another marathon make. I am hitting three challenges with this piece - Tim Holtz's October tag featuring a wrinkled tissue wrap technique plus Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 2 #24 challenge featuring Alcohol Ink Resist (page 29 Compendium of Curiosities 2).
I started with three jumbo tags and die cut the top of two of them with the Iron Gate die, then applied two layers of Distress Embossing Powder, first Black Soot and then Vintage Photo, which gave it a nice rusted iron look. For my wrinkled tissue wrap, I colorized mine using the Marbled Stains technique and Black Soot/Brushed Pewter DS. I used the Alcohol Ink Resist technique on my center panel. Love the cool ghostly look it gives!
I used black stickles to make my scardy cat sparkle and popped the bat out on a little spring. The moon was colored with Picket Fence and Brushed Pewter DS and stamped with an Artistic Outpost flying bat stamp. I used Distress Crackle paints on each of the three die cuts and when dry, glued them together end to end. They are free standing and just stand up in front of the tag triptych.
That's it for this one. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping in. I hope you will visit us over at Frilly and Funkie to see the great pieces the Funkies have to share!

Linda - Amazing! Too Cool! thank you for sharing your Halloween spookiness!
Must type from the floor, because after seeing this, I think I'm permanently there! The texture behind the house looks amazing showing through the windows, the bats on the moon, the skull that takes a bit to pop out at you, but when it does, AWESOME, the tissue paper texture, the entire scenery. Nice job knocking out 3 at once. These tags are sensational Linda.
happy almost weekend!
