Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #11

We're almost to the end of the 4th annual 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style!   I'm delighted that so many of you are playing along this year...old friends and new!  I hope you will all finish.  Please review your posts to make sure you have met all the requirements to be in the prize drawing and for the 10% discount coupon for shopping at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Everyone who properly completes the challenge will get a 10% off coupon to use in January.

My tag this week features another slathered on background.  This time I mixed gesso with Tim's Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.  When it dried, it was sprayed with Broken China and Brushed Pewter Distress Spray Stains.  And then I couldn't resist hitting edges and high points with a bit of Vintage Photo DI.

Not wanting to cover up the background, I only used a few embellishments.  Most are from the Alpha Parts - Frozen set.  I wanted to have the snowflakes stand out a bit so I colored them with Pool Alcohol Ink.  For the largest snowflake, the bottom two layers were cut from the Paper Snowflake dies.  The bottom layer was cut from silver Deco Sheets.  I adhered the deco sheet film onto a piece of card stock before I cut it.  The next layer up was white card stock with Clear Rock Candy glitter and the top layer is one of the Frozen Alpha Parts.  The Seasons Greetings was also cut from silver Deco Sheet applied to card stock first.  Then I cut another set of the sentiment from black CS and layered it under the silver to make it stand out more against the silvery BG.

Thanks again to everyone for visiting, commenting and playing along!  Can't wait to see what inspires you from this tag.

  4. This is a stunner, Linda - beautiful background (very excited about the gesso/crackle idea!). As you'll have seen, I haven't managed to join in yet and, barring a miracle, I'm reluctantly having to yield to the idea that it's not going to happen. I'm very sad, as it's been one of my favourite things to do since my first year blogging. Well, we'll see.... it is the time of year for miracles after all!

  5. Here we are...next to the last and the excitement hasn't stopped! You had my brain working hard on this one. Got to use some new products this go around and the fun was certainly had. I'm covered head to toe in glitter and hubby says I should have a dancer name with how much I sparkle..LOL.
Your tag is beyond sensational and I only hope I did that transparency look justice.
    Big hugs,
    Lisa xx
