Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #10

Finally, Tag #10 is making its appearance.  My apologies for the delay on this one.  The past week has been totally crazy, with the Black Friday sale at The Funkie Junkie Boutique, the Thanksgiving family visits, cooking and feasting, then a couple of basketball and football games thrown in.  Whew!  But it all came to a halt yesterday with the conclusion of our Cyber Monday sale.  It's almost a relief to know that the sales at the boutique will slow down until after Christmas so I can catch my breath before CHA!

I was able to get into my craft room last night and get Tag #10 started.  I knew I wanted a white frosty background coupled with gold elements.  I started with my normal jumbo manila tag as I always do.  I normally make the tag and then back it up with a heavy chipboard so it doesn't curl or bend.  This time, I adhered the chipboard backing immediately because I planned to slather it with a blend of gesso and texture paste and it needed the stability right away.  Setting the tag aside to dry overnight, I got busy preparing the elements.  First, cheesecloth was colored with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and while wet, sprinkled with Tarnished Brass Distress Glitter.  The snowflake was cut with the Layered Snowflake die from white card stock, stamped in gold with the new Wendy Vecchi Text Background stamp and then embossed with the texture fade that comes with the set.  Using my finger, I applied Old Gold Inka Gold paste to the embossed high points on the snowflake.

The pine bough and the sentiment were cut with thinlits (Holiday Greens and Holiday Words: Script) dies from white card stock and colored with both Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and rubbed with more Inka Gold.  A small laser cut snowflake, also rubbed with Inka Gold, was used to finish off the pine bough.

I hope you will find something here to inspire your crafting this week.  It would be wonderful to have you link up to this challenge.  You can find all the details in the Week #1 post.  Please be sure to follow all the challenge requirements so you can be eligible for the prize drawings and the discount coupon at the end of the challenge!

These products were used to create the above tag.  They are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi and most other name brand products are always 20% below MSRP.
