I created the above winter card, not particularly for any challenge, but just because I I hadn't been in my craft room all week.  I've been busy, as I'm sure you all have, with getting all the Christmas preparations finished.  Plus our daughter arrived on Friday and yesterday I made the two hour trip to the Jacksonville airport to pick up our son.  It's great to have our family together for the holidays!  But I was having paper crafting withdrawals so I spent a little time last night playing around with the Layered Snowflake die.

I started the project with a square of white card stock and using a handmade stencil, I stenciled on snowflakes using Wendy Vecchi's embossing paste.  When it was dry, I sprayed it with Salty Ocean distress spray stain, dried that quickly with my heat tool and then sprayed it again, this time with Brushed Pewter distress spray stain.

Using the Layered Snowflake die, I cut one layer with white corrugated cardboard and edged it with Vintage Photo.  A second layer was cut from acrylic packaging and run through the texture fade.  I dabbed a little bit of Glossy Accents onto the acrylic with my finger and sprinkled on Pumice Stone distress glitter.  Music paper was used to cut the rosette topper, which was then topped off with a rhinestone button from the shop.

It was finished off with a gorgeous piece of Venise lace from my shop, some Prima rhinestone flourishes and a snowflake strip from the Holly, Beaded and Snowflake decorative strip die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  And thanks again to everyone who played along with my 12 tags challenge.  I loved visiting your blogs and being inspired by your fantastic creations!

These products were used to make the project above.  They are available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where Tim Holtz/Ranger and most other name brand products are always 20% below MSRP.

  9. I nearly melted when I saw that you used a homemade stencil too. I think it's just the coolest thing that despite you having a store, you still enjoy doing things sort of the 'old fashioned' way. Your card with the music sheet rosette is just stunning and I had a good laugh at "Frosted Flake."
I keep seeing that Pewter stain word running around here in blogland and so I think that will have to be a serious consideration.
CONGRATULATIONS to ALL the winners of your amazing 12 Tags of Christmas and I will definitely be on pins and needles in September for the next one. You have a glorious and blessed Christmas with your family and Merry Christmas to you and THANK YOU!!
    Big hugs,
    Lisa x
