Hi Artistic Outpost friends, this week I decided to play around with clear embossing for my background - just experimenting to see what I could create. I started with a jumbo manila tag and gave it a light coat of Frayed Burlap distress stain, then using a Prima stencil I sponged on embossing ink in a flourish pattern. I also did some stamping with embossing ink and a sentiment stamp from Serenity. Next clear embossing powered was applied, the excess tapped off and it was heated on with a heat tool. Then I whitewashed the entire tag with watered down gesso and blotted off some of it from where it was embossed.
The sentiment panel was stamped with a sentiment from Chalkboard Wisdom using Gathered Twigs and clear embossed. I also sprinkled a little Enamelware embossing powder around the edges to add interest. Once the embossing powder was heated on, I sponged the panel with Gathered Twigs. I cut the feather from white card stock and made a splat with Gathered Twigs distress stain. Vintage Photo distress stain was blotted at the bottom, sort of like a pen had leaked. I've had the pearl flourishes in my stash for probably about four years - one of those hoarded things that we hate to part with! I finished my tag off with a crinkle bow that had been dyed with Vintage Photo distress stain.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a great weekend!

This tag is so pretty, Linda! I love to use clear embossing powder for backgrounds but I like the way you whitewashed after you embossed. Really soft and lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag, I love the feather.
ReplyDeleteLove this tag Linda, I am not usually a lover of feather die cuts but you have made yours look brilliant!
