The Warmth of Winter

Hi ya, I'm back with my Frilly make for a brand new challenge kicking off this week over at Frilly and Funkie.  Rebecca is hosting this fortnight and she wants us to share a project that will warm the heart of someone dear to us during this time of winter chill.  What a cool challenge!  I really had to think about this one.  It came out as I intended - I wanted it to reflect the icy chill of winter with a warm, gooey sentimental center.  A few weeks back, Rebecca shared this lovely winter vintage image and I thought it was perfect to depict the loving warmth that I wanted to go along with my icy whites.    I threw in a little Barn Door and Vintage Photo to warm it up a bit.

The snowflake paper is from It's Christmas Time by Maja Design and I created the layer under that with a Wendy Vecchi stencil, Barn Door and Vintage Photo DIs.  The card shell started out as white CS and was also sponged with Barn Door edged with Vintage Photo.  I also misted it with Perfect Pearl shade of Perfect Pearl Mist.  My winter rose received the Perfect Pearl misting too.  The holly leaves have been glittered with Clear Rock Candy distress glitter.  The pearl flourish is from Prima and the resin bird is from Melissa Frances.

How about warming winter up for one of your friends?  Hope you will play along with us during this two week Frilly and Funkie challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
