Is it Wendy...

...or is it Memorex?  Okay, so I just gave my age away, oh well :)  Our challenge this time around at Frilly and Funkie, hosted by the delightful and talented Jenny Marples, is 'It's All About Wendy.'  The Frilly and Funkie team is celebrating the fact that our sponsor The Funkie Junkie Boutique has become one of the shops that Wendy links to from her blog when she uses a product.  Yay!!  How cool is that??? Anyway, we have all made projects in the Wendy Vecchi style, possibly using some of her products but putting our own spin on it.  (Check out Wendy's style here on her blog.) Well, I didn't really put a Funkie Junkie spin on it, rather I totally mimicked her style using all her products.  Boy, was that fun!  I used my favorite Wendy Vecchi stencils and broke out a new (for me) stamp - the reverse dots stamp (which I have officially fallen in love with so you will be seeing it frequently).  And best of all, it is available individually as a background stamp - on sale at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I started with a piece of white CS and Wendy's Yipes Stripes stencil which I used to stencil on Vermillion.  Then I stenciled on embossing ink with the For the Holidays Stamp It Stencil It and embossed it with Wendy's new Fern Green embossing powder.  Then it was stamped with the coordinating stamp using white pigment ink.  The sentiment - Merry Christmas - was stamped with Vermillion and clear embossed.

The beautiful Vintage Lace background stamp was stamped in Vermillion and fussy cut out.  It was layered over a panel that I stamped in Fern Green using the Reverse Dots background stamp.  A border from the Industrious Stickers Borders set was covered with Vermillion ink by swiping the pad across it.  The 25 was cut from white CS with the Stacked Words:  Christmas decorative strip die.  It was inked with Fern Green and then stamped in Jet Black archival using a tiny print Wendy Vecchi stamp.  Then it was clear embossed.  I stenciled the Checkmate stencil using Fern Green archival and used it as a back panel.  I also used the tiny print stamp to stamp the card shell in Jet Black archival and then sponged it with Vintage Photo.  I stamped the Reverse Dots stamp using Vermillion ink on a scrap of white CS and then stamped the bow over it with white pigment ink and trimmed it out - loverthe way it looks - so very Wendy Vecchi!  I had a blast making this card using all my favorite Wendy Vecchi products.  I love how it came out pure Wendy with hardly a touch of Funkie Junkie thrown in :)  Please be sure to stop by Frilly and Funkie to check out the rest of the team's makes!

These products used to make the card above can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique where Wendy Vecchi, Stampers Anonymous, Ranger and most other name brand products are always 20% below MSRP.
