Traveling in Style

Hi there, I' back again with another card for the Frilly and Funkie Vintage Travel challenge, celebrating the summer vacation season.  This week I went a little grungy with lots of distress ink and kraft-tone colors.  I started with a piece of the map paper from the Tim Holtz Paper Stash Kraft Resist pad which I used as a base.  I scraped up the edges and then sponged with Walnut Stain.

A piece of plain white CS was cut with the Postage Stamp die and stamped in Jet Black archival with Tim's Travel Ways set.  It was then sponged with Faded Jeans DI and edged and splattered with Walnut Stain.  I found a couple of pieces of ephemera in the Expedition pack that I thought fit and they were also edged with Walnut Stain.  I stamped #wishyouwerehere from the #hashtags set in Jet Black archival.

Sifting through my rejects stash, I found this silver aluminum fleur di leis which I painted bronze with some Vintaj patina paint.  I aded the compass and key from my store, The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and mounted it on a piece of corrugated cardboard, also from my store.    This card was very quick and easy to make, thanks to the Expedition Ephemera Pack.

Hope you will stop by Frilly and Funkie to see the travel-inspired projects from both the design team and the shared pieces of our challenge players.  I guarantee they will get your mojo revving!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
