Fashion and Style at the OCC

Hello and happy Saturday!  I am back today with a card I made for this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner.  Irena (Rudlis) is our host this week and her theme is fashion/style/mannequins/stitching.  I've used the Tim Holtz mannequin several times recently so wanted to depart from that a bit.  I pulled out an old favorite stamp set from Papertrey Ink and stamped a vintage style button card that I used to mount some pretty wooden buttons that I sell in the boutique.  I really love this latest batch I purchased and use any excuse to include them on a card!  I also used one of the new floral safety pins that I am carrying too and was able to thread two pink crystal bead and a large pink glass "pearl".  I dyed the cheesecloth and the Venise lace with some of the same dye I use for the seam binding that I use for my store's packaging.  The paper is the yummy Pion Design Fairytale of Spring, which I have newly restocked in the boutique.  The button card was stamped in my favorite stamping ink - Jet Black Archival and then sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I colored a small white doily with the new Black Soot distress paint.  I actually tried to color one with Black Soot distress stain, but the color came out more brown/gray than black so I broke out a bottle of the distress paint and it worked perfectly!  The little resin rose that tops the triple loop bow can also be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

That's about it, friends.  Thanks so much for stopping by and do stop by Our Creative Corner too!

These products used for this card can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique:

  1. Hi Linda! I just love your card. Perfection in the details! I am amazed at the paper doily. I have ordered black doilies online in the past but would never have thought to paint one. Hope you have a great weekend. Best, Yvonne
