She's a Star

Good Sunday morning to you all. Thanks for stopping back by today.  I'm here with a card I made for the September release of the Picture Star plate from Artistic Outpost.  I wanted sepia tones to set off my young star for this piece and backed her up with a piece of newsprint paper from Graphic 45 (ancient and hoarded, been in my stash for years).  She was stamped with Sepia archival ink and I actually found an advertisement for theater on the newsprint paper.   I framed her up with a cabinet card frame that I embellished with embossing.  The frame was made by using the base Vintage Cabinet Card die and the Mini Movers and Shapers Cabinet Card die to cut a piece of chipboard.  Then I stained it, ran it through the Regal Flourishes Texture Fade and then went over it with a white craft pad.

The flower was made by stamping the floodlights stamp in sepia and then die cutting it with the Tattered Pinecones die. I added a scrap of Venise lace for the base along with some eyelash yarn. I stamped some stars from the set in the corners and stamped the lights-camera-action on to a mini label cut with the Mini Styled Labels die and then painted with Clear Rock Candy distress crackle paint.   I know its a simple card, but I was pleased with the design and the colors - just another fun way to use this newly released plate.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you are all having a great fall weekend!

  1. Beautiful sepia tones and layout Linda. The framing is perfect to showcase her and the lights, camera, action on the mini label punch, actually looks like a camera shap. Very striking card!
