Kissing - Enameled - Stains

Jeez Louise, it's September 7th already - the first week in September has passed us by.  Where on earth does the time go?  So if it's Saturday, again, it must be time to post my card for this week's Our Creative Corner challenge.  This week, Lisa Minckler is our hostess again and she wants us to use the Kissing Technique and be sure to include the XO abbreviation for Hugs and Kisses somewhere on your project.  I combined this project with this week's challenge over at Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge, which this week is Enameled Stamping on page 44 of the Compendium of Curiousities.   If you don't already have Tim's technique loaded book, you can get it at 20% off MSRP at my Funkie Junkie Boutique.  I actually sneaked three great techniques into this project - the kissing technique, the Enameled Stamping and Marbled Stains.  Out of respect for Tim Holtz's work, I can't share what's in his CC2 book, but I can show you how gorgeous they are.  Here's a picture I took a picture of all three before I covered them up.
And you can stop by the OCC blog to read a detailed explanation of the kissing technique.  For my kissing, I wanted a fairly solid stamp that would pick up the pattern from the kissed stamp and selected the old SU set Best Blossom.   I inked up the lacy background stamp from Wendy Vecchi's Sentimental Art set with Faded Jeans DI and kissed it with the Best Blossom stamps.  And then of course, I sponged the tag with Vintage Photo DI.  Using the Marbled Stains paper, I created a flower using the Tattered Florals die and combined it with several layers of white corrugated cardboard for a more shabby look.  The doily was cut with the On the Edge Distressed Doily die and I added some filigree metals from my shop that I altered with Ginger alcohol ink.  The background stamp used on the back panel is from TH's Papillon set.  The bottom flourish is a Wendy Vecchi Art Part that I applied the Enameled Stamping technique too.  I used Wendy V's lace stamp again on it, but it didn't really show up too well.  I thought the flourish was still very pretty and decided to use it anyway.

That about sums it up for this one.  It you have questions, leave a comment and I'll update the post or you can email me directly.  I hope you will stop by Our Creative Corner and check out all the kissing going on over there this week and maybe even play along with us!  We'd love to have you join in the the fun!

These items used to create this card can be purchased at great prices (Ranger is 20% below MSRP) at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

  10. My eyes, my eyes!! I don't know where to start first. Back and forth they scan and always stop on something amazing. I really need to get my hands on that book, I feel 'lost' not knowing how you create these techniques, but I can say, "OHHHH how pleasing they look." Your kissing technqiue and X's and O's are fantastic Linda. Another beautiful card from a very talented lady.
    Hugs,
