A Yummy Inspiration

We have an inspiration photo challenge this week at Our Creative Corner.  Christina Barnes is our hostess this week and she has given us this delightful photo to inspire us to create.  We also must include polka dots somewhere on our creation.

For my make, I was inspired by the pinks and the blues and although not cake or cupcake related, I did want to make something soft and pretty so here is what I came up with using the sketch from Mojo Monday.
Using PhotoShop Elements, I merged a vintage floral image over a vintage pharmacy form and used it as my main focal image.  The paper is digital also from Pink Petticoat, but I changed the shade of pink on PSE also.  Using the eyedropper tool, I picked up color from the vintage floral image and then made my digital strips and polka dots that color.  I also created the solid color using a similar process in PSE, then printed all three on my home printer.  The edges were distressed and sponged with Old Paper DI, I added some sewing as a design element.  The flower is actually an old one made with the Tattered Flowers die and spritzed with Perfect Pearls Biscotti Mist, then added a snippet of millinery netting.  The butterfly was bronze and I painted it with Snow Cap Mixative.  Almost all the products used to make this card with the exception of the digital papers and the doily, can be purchased in my Funkie Junkie Boutique, see the links below.

Now I hope you will stop over at Our Creative Corner to check out what the other designers have made.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

  11. Linda your card is gorgeous! And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I love pink and stripes! So many beautiful elements come together to make one great card. Curious, how do you begin a card usually? Do you start with a layout idea or what? Always lovely my dear!
