For my last tag, I decided to make a little folded card type of tag. Starting with one of my favorite jumbo manila tags that I sell in the boutique, I bent both ends inward until they touched and once in the correct formation, using a bone folder, I made sharp creases. I really love this new Wendy Vecchi plaid stamp, especially for winter crafting. I stamped the front two panels with Festive Berries and the back panel was stamped with Evergreen Bough. Then the entire exterior was sponged with Vintage Photo.
For the interior, I applied Evergreen Bough ink through the Holly stencil, then added a very light touch of vintage text with Wendy Vecchi's new stamp. Then I splattered on a few dots of Gathered Twigs distress ink. The inside was then sponged with Vintage Photo and Festive Berries distress glitter was used to make the holly berries. I just dotted a bead of Glossy Accents where I wanted the holly berries and then shook on the Festive Berries glitter. At that point, I set it aside to dry over night. My sentiment panel was cut with an ancient Spellbinders label die and stamped with jet black archival ink. The sentiment is from Stamping' Up. I also applied the delicate holly stamp by Tim Holt. I don't even remember what set it is from because the stamp is a go to stamp that no longer resides in it's set. It sits in my go to bin on my desk all year 'round. The panel was cut from white CS and aged with Vintage Photo DI.
I tied it together with twine and added a couple of silver charms along with the tag on a silver tone loop pin.

ReplyDeleteLinda, what a fabulous finale! Although I got hooked up a little late--6 days ago to be exact--your inspiration has seen me through to this point, and now I have 11 cards I can send out! I couldn't have done it without your TREMENDOUS inspiration and energy! I'm so thankful for that extra week to finish this tag (probably a card for me!) I really could use the time to get my cards in the mail!!! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteThis last tag is a favorite of mine with the splatters of ink, the festive red berries, and the corrugated sleeve to keep it snugly closed. Such a brilliant design, and happy to see you using the old stamps and Stampin' Up sentiments...tee hee...I've used a few oldies, but goodies myself!
I'm wishing you and your family a Blessed and Merry Christmas! You are a blessing to the crafting world! Big Christmas hugs!
I DID IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many things to love about this tag/card! The plaid!, the holly!, the jingle bell! the snowflake! I'm finding it hard to decide which elements I'll choose for my final project, but I know it's going to be a fun one to work on! Thanks for the deadline extension. Having extra time during this season is always appreciated!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag / card Linda! Thank you for the inspiration! I still have to catch up on two more but they are up next hopefully. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the extra time-- omg, mid-December is like a time-vacuum! Love your folded tag: very "outside the box" and I love that!

ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to finish it all off... I'm so sad I couldn't fit it in this year, but I have enjoyed seeing the creations of those who were playing as well, of course, as your marvellous inspiration pieces. Fingers crossed for next year....
