Bling, bLiNg, BLING!

Over at Frilly and Funkie, Jenny wants bling!  I missed my DT posting last week because I was out of town and then running to get things caught up at the store with a shortage of manpower.  So I dropped the ball on my DT duties and lovey Jenny stepped in and covered my spot on the Frilly side.  This week I did double bling on my Funkie side make to compensate for last week's MIA.  Lots of gold and glitter and shine on this piece, although, as usual, it's difficult to have it all come through in the photo.  

Starting with a 4.25x5.5" piece of kraft paper, using Jet Black archival ink, Wendy Vecchi's new Old Ledger stencil was used and then overstamped with the new Script background stamp.  Starting to lay down a layer of bling, I used Treasure Island Aqua from Lindy's Stamp Gang.  Love the vintage brown base and the aqua sheen!  Next I used my IndigoBlu Flitter Glue kit to lay down some metallic leaf in variegated shades with Wendy Vecchi's two lovely new flourishes from the Art and You set.   I find Wendy's detailed stamps work fantastic with the Flitter Glue metallic flake process.  Love the elegant bling it provides!

Next I wanted to crown my piece with an elegant topper.  I pulled out an old favorite Distressed Doily die and since I was using kraft CS for the body of the piece, I decide to go with corrugated cardboard for my topper.  I blinged it up a bit by speading on Deco Gold in Old Gold.  Again, it doesn't show well in the photo, but you can seee it a bit on the high spots.  And I added a really gorgeous piece of KAISERCRAFT laser cut wooden embellishments.  I also dipped into my inventory a the shop and came up with one of the new Spellbinders Gilded Life chain packages.  What a cool embellishment this is.  You get inches and inches of chain.  This set came with two sizes of crystal chain.  I only used a couple of inches here  It was clear facet cut beads, but I deduced I wanted it to match the colors and style of the piece so I painted on Alcohol Ink - first in Butterscotch but that was too yellow-y.  I finished it off with a quick brush over of Mushroom Alcohol Ink.  

Next I cut white CS with a Spellbinders die, colored it with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain and dried it with my heat tool.  After that, to up the bling level,  I gave it a light coating of Multi Medium Matte rubbed on by my finger and then poured on Rock Candy Distress Glitter.  I decided to go with a sheer gold May Arts ribbon, tied in a double loop with the ends distressfully frayed.  I had been talking to a friend recently about the Stick Pins I used to make when I sold on Etsy.  I still have a few around and this one worked perfectly with the ribbon.

And finally, the sentiment is from the same Art and You set from Wendy Vecchi.  It was stamped on white CS, trimmed out and stamped.  And that's it, friends.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.
