Hello, I'm back today to wish you a Happy New Year! Today is a new challenge from Our Creative Corner too. This month, our hostess is Claudia and her challenge is "No More Shopping Sins". She wants us to rip open something that has been sitting unused and hoarded and put it to work on our project. Well, I decided I must rip open everything and use it one time before it finds it's way into my hoard. I thought and thought and riffled through things and just wasn't coming up with anything unopened. But then I found a package of Prima die cut felt embellies that I had actually unearthed a couple of months ago and made a note that I wanted to use. These things are probably 3-4 years old. And I matched them up with a black crystal flourish that I had been hoarding. It was also unopened but I have used one before as I purchased several packets back in the day.
I did also use some highly hoarded Maja Design Sofiero paper on this tag. I ripped two strips and glued them to both edges, leaving the midsection blank. Using a Prima stencil, I applied White embossing paste to the tag. Once the embossing paste had set up, I brushed the entire tag with watered down gesso. When dry, I gave it a misting with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold, which was also used to mist the flowers and leaves. I used one of the pretty floral filigree metal pieces from the boutique and dry brushed it with gesso. The cheese cloth was dyed with Vintage Photo and then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold to give it a little life and bling. Very simple tag, but I love the way the background turned out. I will definitely be doing this again!
That's it for my OCC make this month. I hope you will check out the fantastic creations by the rest of the design team.
