Welcome to the Artistic Outpost February blog hop. Our theme this month is literature/children's books. I chose to work with the Favorite Book plate from Artistic Outpost. And this is also my design team sample for Frilly and Funkie. Sue Carrington is our host and she is kicking off the Frilly week with a theme of layers + a word. Obviously my word is Read.
The hop lineup is as follows:
I hope you will visit all of our designers and leave them some love. There are some amazing projects to be seen using the wonderful Artistic Outpost plates. And don't forget about our February referral challenge. It's super easy this month as our theme is Anything Goes. All you have do to be eligible to enter is to use Artistic Outpost stamps.
For my piece, I started with one of the jumbo tags from my shop. This particular one had been sitting on my craft table for a couple of weeks. I used it to soak up left over Dusty Concord and Bundled Sage distress inks while working on a project. I ripped a corner off a highly hoarded piece of Pion Design Fairytale of Spring paper and sewed it to the tag. The main image was stamped with Jet Black archival onto white CS, cut with a Spellbinders Nestability die, sponged with Vintage Photo DI, colored with distress markers and edged with my mixture of UTEE and gold EP. I created the list of genres on my computer, trimmed them out and sponged them with Dusty Concord and Vintage Photo. The Read tag was also cut with a Spellbinders die. The rosebuds are sold in my store and I painted them with Dusty Concord distress stain which I also did with the Venise lace tie at the top (all Venise lace and appliques are 15% off through Thursday night 2/21 at The Funkie Junkie Boutique - click Friday Focus 15%). The straight doily and the green dyed seam binding are also from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you will visit all the designers, both for the Artistic Outpost hop and over at Frilly and Funkie!

ReplyDeleteI love this tag. Reading used to be one of my favorite past times. Right now I have bad cataracts that I cannot afford to fix until I am eligible for Medicare next February since I got hurt on the job and ended up on disability and with disability one must wait 29months to qualify for medicare. Anyway, tag is gorgeous.
