Hello and Happy Monday. It's the start of another week. I hope you all had a great weekend. We've had some great participation and wonderful entries into the first two tag challenges. Thanks to all who have linked up their work. Before we go into this week's inspiration piece, I just wanted to remind everyone of the "rules". I've been visiting your blogs and have noticed not all posts have included the required information. If you want to be qualified for the 3 gift certificate give-aways at the end you must play by the rules, specifically, you must mention what from my tag inspired you and provide links back to this challenge and to my shop as sponsor at www.thefunkiejunkie.com. You can read the full list of requirements here.
Thanks for coming back to see my Week #3 tag for my 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style. This week I went overboard with the new Brushed Pewter Distress Stain. That stuff is amazing! Using the Marbled Stain technique (Compendium of Curiosities 2 page 46) I combined Picket Fence, Weathered Wood and Brushed Pewter for my background and for my die cut snowflakes. I dried it with my heat tool and stamped snowflakes with silver paint dabber all over the tag.
Frosty was painted with Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint and when dry and crackled I used a paintbrush and brushed on a blend of Weathered Wood and Brushed Pewter DS. The heart was colored with Worn Lipstick and then I ran the Brushed Pewter DS over it. I used Alpha Parts - Newsprint painted with Silver paint dabber for the word Frosty and glued them to the screen with Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium Matte. The screen is some galvanized metal I bought at the hardware store and it's sort of powdery white because I soaked it in bleach for a few days.
I made a little clear banner from acrylic packaging and dabbed more Brushed Pewter DS on the back. The sentiment was stamped on the front with Ranger Jet Black archival ink. I applied the new Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter to the flourish. I finished off with a couple of the new Festive Foliages, one of which has been embossed with Enamelware EP.
And that's that for Tag #3. I hope you will join in the fun.
Love this tag Linda - already have an idea of what to do (I've been caught by the Christmas tag bug and been waiting for your next one!!) Looking at the colour scheme, think I know someone else who will heartily approve too:)
