Happy Fourth of July!

Happy weekend, folks!  I'm back to share my make for Our Creative Corner where Kristin Tierney is hostess again this week.  She wants us to take inspiration from this photo AND the twist is that you must use something that you use in baking - either an ingredient or a baking supply.  Here's the inspiration photo:
Doesn't this photo just make your mouth water?  I'm afraid I didn't do justice to this inspiration.  I really wanted to make a patriotic card to celebrate the 4th of July so I pushed the limits of this inspiration challenge and used the red, white and blue hearts for my inspiration.  For my baking supplies, the red circle is a cupcake paper that I colored with Barn Door Distress Stain and the white rosette was cut from a piece of parchment paper.  The other team members really embraced this challlenge.  You must stop by Our Creative Corner to see their wonderful out-of-the-box designing for this challenge.

If you are interested in my card deets, read on.  The background piece is Ranger manila card stock, stamped with a Wendy Vecchi script stamp in Coffee archival ink, then overstamped the stars from the TH Wild West set with Distress embossing ink and clear EP. Then I stamped again using Cobalt archival ink.  When the ink was dry, I sponged the entire panel with Vintage Photo distress ink and then did a bit of spritz and flick on it.

I did a bit of photoshop work, removing the background from a LunaGirl image and layered it over a vintage prescription from The Graphics Fairy.  The stars are Claudine Hellmuth's sticky backed canvas that I adhered to chipboard and die cut.  Then I applied Faded Jeans Distress Stain to the sticky pack canvas.  Two sets of white CS letters were cut with the Vintage Market die, one was stained red with Barn Door DS and the other stained blue with Faded Jeans DS.  Once dry, I adhered them together, just slightly offset for depth and gave them a coat of Crackle Accents.

That's pretty much it for the deets on this one, but if you still have questions, please feel free to email me at thefunkiejunkie@gmail.com.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
