Hi there, I'm back again with my weekly posting for the Artistic Outpost deisgn team.  I have made another Christmas card with the wonderful Christmas Chalk stamp set.  I love the stylized deer and Christmas tree stamps from this set.  I started by making a panel stamped randomly with the pine bough stamp, stamped with Pine Needles distress ink and then spritzed with Brushed Pewter distress spray.  Using a snowflake texture fade, I embossed white CS and then sponged the high points and the edges with more Pine Needles DI.  Since I was on a roll with the Pine Needles, I also used it to do some of the stamping and sponged the pine needles die cuts with it too.

I made several die cuts using the Stacked Snowflakes die, one of which was embossed with the texture fade that came with my Layered Snowflake die.  That snowflake got the Pine Needles sponging treatment too. The next snowflake in the stack was cut from white CS that had been covered with Frosted Film and then given a coat of Brushed Pewter distress stain.  The small snowflake on the top of the stack was white CS painted with Brushed Pewter distress stain and then glittered with Pumice Stone distress glitter.  I topped it off with a small gumdrop sold in my store.  I cut the evergreen with the Holiday Greens thinlits, sponged the with Pine Needles and misted them with Brushed Pewter spray distress stain.  I love the way they look with the metallic distress stain.

My triple loop bow is seam binding dyed with Brushed Pewter distress stain and embellished with a small silver tone snowflake and tiny jingle bell, also available in my store.  The small safety pin also comes with the set which makes it so easy to add it to a bow.

Something Different

Hello, thanks for stopping by today.  I have a cute little project to share that I made for our challenge over at Frilly and Funkie.  Cec is our hostess and we are kicking off week #2, the Funkie week to post for our challenge theme of A Gift From the Heart.  This week I decided to use the winter charms set that I sell in The Funkie Junkie Boutique and make wine charms out of them.  These were a lot of fun to make up plus they were super quick to put together.  I had a bunch of silver tone spacers and some tiny faceted crystal beads in my stash that I was able to put to use. 

I ordered a set of 200 silver tone hoops from eBay and had enough silver bells and charms to make up 10 sets of hoops, charms and silver bells.  They are $2.99 for a set of six.  All you need to do is add beads and spacers to your liking.  I used 4-6mm faceted crystal rondelle spacer beads which you can get at most of the big box craft stores, if you don't already have them in your stash.  These make lovely quick and easy handmade hostess gifts for the holidays!

Challenge: 12 Tags of Christmas - Funkie Junkie Style - Week #9

I have so much fun making the tags each year and love making a variety of styles.  Last week it was homespun and this week I'm going for elegant with a gold and black color palette.  I started with one of the jumbo manila tags that I sell in the boutique.  I don't have them in black so I used black distress paint and painted it with two coats of paint, drying it with a heat tool between painting the two layers.  

Next, using the Tim Holtz Christmas stencil, I stenciled on gold Wendy Vecchi embossing paste.  The edges of the tag were dry brushed with gold acrylic paint dabber.  On a piece of vellum, I stenciled on embossing ink using the Tim Holtz Festive stencil and embossed on Queen's Gold embossing powder.    The edges were ripped and sponged with Vintage Photo DI.  When the gold embossing paste was dry, the vellum was affixed over it using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  

I haven't used my Snowflake Rosette decorative strip die yet this holiday season and have been wanting to use it.  I wanted the embellishments to be very simple so as not to take away from the two layers of embossing.  I cut the rosette out of white CS, stamped it with the Christmas Carol stamp from Tim's Mini Holidays 3 set, sponged the edges with Vintage Photo and gave it a shot or two of Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain.  There are two layers of seals, the bottom one was gold embossed with Queen's Gold EP.  The top one was cut with the Stacked Snowflake die from acrylic packaging and sprayed with Brushed Pewter Distress Spray Stain. I topped it off with a small gumdrop from my shop, which is a bit smaller than the Tim Holtz gumdrops.

The sentiment was made with a stamp from Mini Holidays 5, stamped with embossing ink and embossed with Queen's Gold.  I used selected areas from the Festive Stencil, stenciled on embossing ink and embossed with Queen's Gold.   The panel was cut with the new Labels Thinlits dies.

I dyed the shabby seam binding by scribbling a bit of Tarnished Brass distress stain on my craft sheet and dabbing it in it.

White Christmas

Greetings friends and followers!  It's Sunday again and time for my weekly post for Artistic Outpost.  This week I felt like making an all white card, but then decided to add silver. to give it a more festive touch.  I started by stamping the image from Midwinter and the sentiment from Christmas Chalk on white CS with Jet Black archival ink.  I cut them out with two of the labels dies from the new Tim Holtz Thinlits Labels set.  Using the On the Edge Snow Flurries die, I cut white CS and glittered it with Clear Rock Candy distress glitter using Glossy Accents.  The tiny pearl clusters on the snowflakes are from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Venise lace bows were added to give it a festive touch, also from my boutique.  

I cut a sheet of acrylic plastic with the new Stacked Snowflakes die.  I arranged the die cut snowflakes on a 5x5 panel of white CS and used them as a mask when I misted the panel with Brushed Pewter Distress Spray Stain....and then of course I covered it all up.  The bottom mat was edged with Brushed Pewter distress stain.  

The snowflake was one of the acrylic die cuts I sprayed with Brushed Pewter.  I love the way it looks - a unintended development!
